Who knew you could find the best Cajun food right here in Nashville, look no further than Papa Boudreaux’s Cajun Café in downtown Franklin, TN. Papa Boudreaux is owned and operated by Brad and Guy Bader, brothers and New Orleans natives, Franklin’s Papa Boudreaux’s branched off from their father’s location in Santa Fe, TN, back in 2011.
Almost everything on the menu is made to order, and typically, it’s just Brad in the kitchen whipping up his own down-home family recipes.
The Atmosphere and Food
The food, service, atmosphere, pricing, value and just the whole experience was absolutely stellar. Papa Boudreaux is decorated in a Mardi Gras color theme- with lots of purples and greens and golds and a big fleur-de-lis logo. My server, Landrianna, was as sweet as could be and was a perfect hostess and ambassador for Papa B’s. I started with a cup of gumbo and paid for the slight upcharge to make that gumbo Eilee style -with crawfish added to the plentiful bounty of shrimp and sausage. I’m gonna look you straight in the eye and tell you this was the best gumbo I’ve ever had in my life. It was a ridiculously delicious bowl of seafood stew in a spicy broth. Just freaking wonderful! I had a BBQ Shrimp plate ($12.99 from the lunch menu -eight excellent shrimp in a BBQ sauce with sausage slices and a big scoop of potato salad. The flavors were magnificent and I ordered the BBQ shrimp at a “medium” spice level and it delivered a ton of fIavor and I also topped it off with a side of red beans and rice which added a creamy comfort food exclamation point to my meal.
