Joey D’s is the best restaurant in Atlanta
I first visited Joey D’s a few years ago and I ordered the Spicy BBQ Shrimp and my life was forever changed. It was absolutely delicious! I was visiting Atlanta celebrating my one of my close girlfriends birthday and Joey D’s was my treat to Cheryl. The outside of the restaurant does not do the interior justice. When riding by, Joey D’s has the appearance of a pretty simple restaurant that you could find anywhere. But, upon entering, you are greeted by a wall of different liquors in the bar area to your immediate left. The tables are spacious and covered in white linen. The kitchen is open so you can see what’s going on and food preparation. The lighting is soft and warm and has a very calming effect. We arrived at Joey D’s shortly after noon and were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. He patiently answered all of our questions and took our drink orders seriously because we were celebrating our friend, Cheryl’s 47th birthday.
The food was amazing as usual! The honey butter croissants that came with our salads were the most incredible croissants we’d ever had. They were like a little piece of heaven air wrapped in a perfect puff pastry with a honey butter that was just the right level of sweet. Goodness, gracious…I can see why it’s also listed as an appetizer!
For my entrée, I decided on the New Orleans Spicy Shrimp (which were perfectly cooked and flavored), the Lobster Ravioli (the only complaint is that it was gone too fast), along with sautéed spinach.
I wasn’t going to have anything to drink because I was holding off until later night but the bar and the drink menu was calling my name.
Joey D’s is definitely a place that we’d consider visiting again and it should be on your “to do” list if you are in the Atlanta area.
