Alley on Main
The Alley on Main is located in downtown Murfreesboro right on the square. Their menu features Italian, steak and southern classic dishes at very reasonable prices and the food is absolutely amazing. Every meal is fresh and made in house from recipes passed down over steaming pots of perfection.
The décor has an old feel with the pictures from the owners family.
What to eat?
Alley on Main always has excellent food with excellent service. We were seated immediately and ordered the crispy calamari as an appetizer. It was awesome!! The calamari was crispy on the outside and yet tender on the inside and served with homemade aioli and tomato sauce. . The Calamari was followed up by a house salad made with their homemade French dressing.
Our server recommended the Fried shrimp as an entrée, so that’s what my husband and I both ordered along with a salad and the garlic mashed potatoes. The Shrimp were fried to perfection and the garlic mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection as well; just delicious. The portions are huge so I also had a side of broccoli with my entrée to share with my husband. The broccoli was like none other I’ve had. I couldn’t identify the seasoning with it but it definitely had a citrus/acid component to it along with a savory seasoning like soy sauce, maybe. Whatever it was, it added a great flavor to the broccoli. My daughter had the Spinach dip and it was so good I didn’t get a chance to take a picture before she devoured the entire bowl so I’m thinking that’s a good thing!!
Alley on Main is a really relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Their standards are very high, but they want people to come in and have a good time and feel comfortable bringing their kids.
